Jasmine Sproule, Grad Dip Psych Studies, B Arts (Hons) Psychology; Master Of Clinical Psychology
Psychologist and Clinical Psychology Registrar
Jasmine is a psychologist and Clinical Psychology Registrar at Central Coast Therapy Centre. She completed her Graduate Diploma of Psychological Studies and Bachelor of Arts (Honours) Psychology at the University of Western Sydney (now Western Sydney University), and a Master of Clinical Psychology at the University of Technology, Sydney, graduating in 2016.
Jasmine has one and a half years’ experience in psychology, having previously worked in public health in the area of pain management, and for a non-government organisation seeing children with emotional and conduct problems.
Jasmine is a friendly and warm person who sees the role of a psychologist as empowering people to realise their goals and live rich and meaningful lives that are in line with their values, despite ongoing struggles or problems. She believes that the cornerstone of therapy is developing a strong relationship rooted in trust and empathy, that will serve as a safe environment to work collaboratively on a person’s concerns. Jasmine believes that therapy should never be a “one-size-fits-all” approach and emphasises the importance of understanding and taking into account different people’s strengths, perspectives, worldviews, and cultural, linguistic, and religious backgrounds.
Jasmine works with clients of all ages and presenting concerns but is particularly interested in chronic pain management, child and adolescent behavioural and emotional problems, anxiety and depression.
Jasmine comes from a background in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, and utilises both this and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy techniques in her treatment.
